Dr. Bundy joins us from northern Arizona where he practiced for over 15 years and was named Young Optometrist of the Year in 2014. Dr. Bundy completed his training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center and then completed an additional residency in ocular disease at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Hospital.

In his own words:

“I’m incredibly excited to get back to the mountain west. I grew up in the high plains of southwestern Wyoming and my wife, Stacy, is a native of Great Falls. Our two kiddos are eager to get involved with “Montana life” at ages 16 and 11. They have, however, made it 20/20 clear that they are not excited about the idea of even more family hikes. They have also repeated their requests that I lay off the dad jokes.

I consider it a privilege each and every day to get to care for my patient’s eyes and overall health. I love helping awkward pre-teens get their first pair of contact lenses. I consider it an honor to shed a tear alongside my hundreds of patients with macular degeneration as we fight to maintain quality of life. I chuckle with my fellow forty-somethings as we bemoan the fact that our arms are all of a sudden too short.

When your husband gets rusty metal in his eye….again…despite your reminder to wear safety glasses…we’ll drill out that rust ring. Glaucoma treatment and management is a team approach where we’ll see each other multiple times per year over the next few decades. Scleral lenses have become a passion project as we help patients with Keratoconus avoid cornea transplants, see well after LASIK/PRK complications, or alleviate their severe dry eye disease.”

“For those who simply want a new pair of great quality good-looking glasses, we have you covered with one of the largest optical selections in Montana.

I lead a pretty simple life most days….and I’m also guilty of continually asking “Why not?” That led me to find myself competing on the television show American Ninja Warrior as well as leading overseas eye care teams to India, Cambodia, Thailand, and Papua New Guinea.

That “why not?” question also means my family occasionally finds themselves on a three-hour paddleboarding trip that turns into six. I’m well known for taking buddies on hikes that somehow end up uphill both ways.

I believe life is worth living to the fullest and it’s even better with clear, comfortable vision. Western Montana is BEAUTIFUL. I want to help you see it so you can truly experience it.

The team at Montana Eye Care are true professionals who have been providing excellent care for many years. I look forward to carrying on that vision and continuing to create an office culture where people love to work and patients love to visit.

A big thank you to Dr. Simons for welcoming my family and me to the area. I know you’ll all join me as we wish him well in retirement. Keep on strummin’ doc.”
